What size chicken coop do I need? 

The needed size of your chicken coop shed will be determined by a number of factors, from the breed of chicken you own to the number of chickens you have. A good rule of thumb is to provide 10 square feet of space for each chicken if they are medium-sized.

Do I need to add a run to my chicken coop?

While it’s not necessary, for most chickens, it’s definitely recommended. Chickens thrive when they can pick and scratch at the dirt, and a run gives them a protected place for them to do this.
