A 10×24 shed is a larger-sized shed that will fit plenty of supplies and tools, as well as larger items like lawn tractors and ATVs. This size is also a great choice for a workshop or hobby shed.
10×24 sheds are not typically a size we keep in stock, so it’s possible we won’t have this size in our inventory. Check out our inventory for other shed sizes, or custom order your 10×24 shed below.

High barn sheds are a great choice for maximizing space in your shed. With a wall height of 75″, each high barn shed comes with a loft as a standard feature, and the option to add a second one. If you need a shed that gives you plenty of storage, this is the one.
Generally speaking, you should have a permit to install 10×24 sheds. Since 10×24 sheds are over 120 square feet, it will require a permit in most locations. However, it’s important to check with the local government to confirm any specific regulations or requirements before installing a shed of any size.
If you live in North Dakota, please check out our shed permit guide for that state.
10×24 shed foundation typically requires approximately 3.85 cubic yards of gravel. Since we recommend making your foundation a foot longer and wider than the shed on all sides, you will need a pad that measures 12×26. We also recommend a depth of at least 4″. These calculations assume that your site is level. If you are installing the shed on a slope, you may need more gravel. For more information on site preparation, please refer to our site prep page.
The total footprint of a 10×24 shed is 240 square feet. However, it’s important to note that the usable interior space will be slightly less than this due to the thickness of the walls.
To calculate the usable floor space, subtract approximately 5″ from each side of the interior dimensions. This accounts for the wall studs (3.5″) and the sheathing and siding on the outside (up to 1.5″).
Thus, to perform the calculation, you should multiply 9 feet 7 inches by 23 feet 7 inches, yielding an estimated interior space of approximately 207.5 square feet.
